Places to Visit
The Lakshman Jhula is a landmark place in Rishikesh. A hanging bridge across the holy river Ganga in Rishikesh, it is made up of iron and it is almost 450 feet long, which is suspended at an elevation of almost 70 feet above the river. According to the Ramayana, it is believed that Lord Ram and his brother Lakshman had crossed the Ganga river at the same place, where the bridge has been built. This bridge and the places around it, is a great location to explore and sight-see.
Rishikesh is known for many things amongst which stands tall is the famous Shiva Temple called the Neelkanth Mahadev temple. The stupor and enchantment of the delightful city tells the most ancient of all tales and significant happenings in Hindu Mythology.
Located at a distance of 32 km from Rishikesh, the temple is a sacred pilgrim spot. The Shiva abode is situated at a height of 1330 meters amidst the valleys of Manikoot, Brahmakoot, and Vishnukoot.
Truly mesmerizing, hidden beauty of nature is Patna waterfall in Rishikesh. The fall is 6.5 km from Laxman Jhula in Patna village near Garud Chatti. You could also visit the waterfall on your way to Neelkanth temple.
